General Dynamics UK collaborates with INCOSE UK, alongside corporate Advisory Board partners, for ‘Think Engineer’ publication

General Dynamics UK has collaborated with INCOSE UK, alongside eight other corporate INCOSE UK Advisory Board (UKAB) partners, to publish a special edition of the children’s book ‘Think Engineer’ for the 2018 ‘Year of Engineering’ campaign.

The children’s book is aimed at Key Stage 2 pupils aged 7-11, as well as their parents and educators to raise the awareness of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects – focusing on engineering.  The book contains a wealth of engineering information hidden within the rhymes, whilst each image in the book has been carefully crafted to be as child-friendly as possible, whilst having a solid link back to engineering.

The bespoke edition is due to the 2018 ‘Year of Engineering’ scheme – a government-led year-long campaign to encourage young people to study Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics subjects and consider engineering as a career path.

INCOSE UK worked with eight UK Advisory Board members to release the publication. Copies of the children’s book will be distributed to schools and libraries in the near future, aiming to promote the STEM initiative and the Year of Engineering campaign.

Ivan Mactaggart, INCOSE UK president said:

“INCOSE UK is extremely excited to be a part of this nationwide initiative to give young people a positive experience of the engineering profession. We are more than happy to play our part in proving that engineering can be a path for all young people.”
