April 14th 2010 - General Dynamics UK delivers Defence and Security solutions at DSA 2010

General Dynamics UK will demonstrate its full range of capabilities to visitors at the Defence Services Asia (DSA) 2010 exhibition on stand 4068 of the Putra World Trade Centre in Kuala Lumpur from 19 to the 22 April.

The company will showcase capabilities in Network Enabled Communications (NEC) and C4I technology which that will be of specific interest for the Malaysian Army’s ISN requirement; its Armoured Fighting Vehicle (AFV) design, engineering, integration and refit expertise; and its solutions for the Security and Resilience requirements of Malaysia and other South East Asian nations.

Leading Network Enabled Communications (NEC) and C4I technology

General Dynamics UK will demonstrate C4I systems integration technology that has made it the partner of choice for several armed forces wishing to digitise their communications from command-level to the soldier on the ground, including British, Dutch, Romanian and Libyan forces. General Dynamics UK delivers bespoke solutions that meet differing levels of customer communications capability requirements, from land-based divisional capability up to force-wide multi-platform capability as well as maritime vessel and aircraft integration.

The Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) ISN programme is a tri-service and multi-echelon programme that can draw on the variety of capabilities and technologies General Dynamics UK offers, from land platform integration to airborne datalinking.

Leading Armoured Fighting Vehicle technology

Recently selected to provide the British Army’s next generation of armoured fighting vehicles (AFV), known as Specialist Vehicle or SV, General Dynamics UK will showcase the design, engineering and integration of the latest AFV technologies. Specific capabilities highlighted by the company in this area include:

  • A unique Electronic Architecture (EA) system, which delivers the benefits of weight reduction, increased space and easy plug-and-play power management for vehicles;
  • Industry-leading systems integration and vehicle refit expertise based on integrating over 13,000 new and legacy vehicles for the British Army. General Dynamics UK has refitted vehicles for the Dutch, Romanian and Libyan Armed Forces including legacy vehicles such as the T-72 and T-92 tanks and BMP armoured vehicles.

Security and Resilience for South East Asian nations

General Dynamics UK will showcase a number of its technologies and capabilities that provide security and resilience in the event of manmade or natural disasters, including Critical National Infrastructure capabilities, futuristic Urban Intelligence technology and Deployable Infrastructure systems for civil and military forces.
