June 21st 2010 - General Dynamics UK shows diverse capabilities to UK customers at DVD 2010
Millbrook Vehicle Proving Ground, United Kingdom – General Dynamics UK will demonstrate its capabilities as a leading systems integrator and designer of armoured fighting vehicles, deployable infrastructures and C4I solutions enabling command and control through information dominance. The company will have a presence at three locations at the DVD 2010 demonstration show, at the Millbrook Proving Ground from June 23 -24, 2010. The three locations are:
- Stand OR28-30 – in the Off-Road section: General Dynamics UK will be showcasing its Core Infrastructure Distribution System (CIDS) for Electronic Architectures (EA) in two forms – a complex fit on a Cougar and a light version called CIDS LITE on an M-WMIK Jackal. It will also showcase ASCOD SV, which was selected by the MoD as its preferred vehicle for the Scout SV programme.
- Stand BP07 and BP08 – in the Bridport area – A number of General Dynamics UK’s Deployable Infrastructure solutions will be present at DVD this year including one of the 14 Blood Medical Storage Facility (BMSF) units ordered by the MoD. Thirteen of these have already been delivered to the customer whilst the final one will make a special appearance at DVD. In addition, General Dynamics UK will be demonstrating its Persistent Surveillance capabilities, as well as a variety of other deployable units.
- Stand C4-36 - in Concept 4 area – General Dynamics UK will also be showcasing its current and future offerings in the C4I arena including BCIP5.4, the latest version of Bowman which is ready to go out to theatre, and a number of future technologies that will support the soldier of tomorrow. BCIP 5.4 delivers increased network stability and robustness, improved situational awareness (SA), simplified communications planning, external distribution of voice and data, improved command and control and new hardware to British Forces using Bowman.
