August 16th 2010 - General Dynamics showcases its Security and Resilience capability to the Indian Homeland Security community at India’s INDESEC 2010

General Dynamics UK has announced its presence at INDESEC 2010, the Indian Homeland Security exhibition, which will take place in New Delhi from 6 to 8 September 2010.

General Dynamics UK will showcase its capabilities to the Homeland Security community in India, demonstrating how it can support India in its efforts to protect the country, states and organisations from attack as well as build strong partnerships with Indian industry to help ensure an indigenous capability in this important sector. It will also be contributing to the conference which runs in parallel with the exhibition, submitting a paper on Border Security Management.

As prime systems integrator General Dynamics UK will showcase three key security and resilience capabilities at INDESEC 2010 – protection of critical national infrastructure, deployable infrastructure and urban intelligence.

Protection of critical national infrastructure

General Dynamics UK believes that information is one key component of protecting national assets from attack. Knowing what’s coming around the corner has played a key role in General Dynamics UK’s 50 years of success in protecting key facilities around the globe, including some of the largest energy installations and pipelines in the world, transport hubs and borders, commercial sea ports, communications centres and government buildings. In addition, knowing how to bring the best capabilities together to deliver the best solution for each individual security need means General Dynamics UK has become a trusted partner of governments and private organisations who wish to protect their key assets. Company representatives will be on hand to explain General Dynamics UK’s approach and capabilities.

Urban intelligence

In addition to cutting-edge physical security solutions and interoperability of communications, good intelligence is the lifeblood of security services operating in urban locations worldwide. General Dynamics UK’s approach to Intelligence, Surveillance, Targeting and Recognition (ISTAR) and its new VESPer (Virtual Extra Sensory Perception) system gives security forces a real edge. The General Dynamics UK team will demonstrate VESPer’s 3D mapping system, which helps security forces gain advantage in various scenarios including terrorist sieges, urban emergency planning and public event security.

Deployable infrastructure

Mobility of people and equipment is the hallmark of both modern security activity and civil society’s response to accidents and disasters. The ability to move equipment, house operatives, treat the injured or deal with the results of a major incident means the ISO container is an increasingly important piece of equipment. General Dynamics UK will be showcasing a host of ISO containerised solutions from border security and surveillance units to emergency accommodation, sanitation and medical facilities – all of which can be easily delivered to remote or disaster-impacted locations.
