September 9th 2009 - General Dynamics media briefings at DSEi

London, United Kingdom – General Dynamics will display its capabilities as a leading integrator of technology and systems, delivering decisive advantage for military and government customers, at DSEi, the Defence Sales and Equipment International 2009, in London’s docklands, 08-11 September 2009.

A number of formal media briefings will take place, with further interview opportunities for members of the media.  Throughout DSEi, the General Dynamics media teams will be available on stand 1855 and stand 2235.

Tuesday 08 September

  • 10:30 - Delivering for operations, now and in future: Bowman Upgrade and UOR integration
    The briefing will cover the latest upgrade to Bowman, the UK Armed Forces’ tactical communications and data system. It will then cover Contracting for Performance, the importance of AFV integration of modern digital systems, and vehicle architectures.
  • 11:30 - Security and Resilience at home and abroad
    The briefing will introduce General Dynamics UK’s security and resilience capability, with particular focus on the protection of critical national infrastructure, and Urban ISTAR.

Wednesday 09 September

  • 10:30 - Trusted and tailored: international C4ISTAR solutions
    Customers worldwide trust General Dynamics UK to deliver key programmes of national importance. The briefing will cover the company’s experience, and update on current and future export C4ISTAR programmes.
  • 11:30 - FRES SV
    General Dynamics is offering the ASCOD2 vehicle for the Scout/Recce element of the Future Rapid Effect System (FRES) programme. The briefing will provide an update on the vehicle and the General Dynamics offering.

Thursday 10 September

    The briefing will cover the EDGE UK, the unique innovation facility developed by General Dynamics UK, and the wider issues of pulling Research and Development through into capability, together with SME engagement with defence primes.

    General Dynamics UK has a broad capability in providing Battlefield Infrastructure support to operations. The briefing will include container integration, persistent surveillance, medical solutions, and the UK’s ISTAR infrastructure.
