Meet Will – project manager
Meet Will, sharing his story of progression from the engineering graduate scheme, to his role as a project manager.
Whilst studying electrical and electronic engineering at Glamorgan University, Will was invited to visit the General Dynamics UK site in Newbridge as part of the course. The visit inspired him to apply for the graduate scheme as an engineering graduate in 2013.
“It can be extremely challenging when working to demanding time scales, nonetheless it is very rewarding when delivering to a goal or milestone within the allocated time scales.”
At the start of his graduate scheme, Will joined the interconnectivity team on the AJAX programme and has since joined the programme team which has allowed him to develop knowledge in different aspects of the business.
During his role as an engineering graduate, Will was given the opportunity to work in Spain to help build and commission the first prototype platform on the AJAX programme, which went to the DVD event in Millbrook, Milton Keynes. As a project manager for APOLLO and ATLAS, Will is responsible for the quality and timeliness of work to successfully deliver both platforms to the customer.
“I enjoy coming into work and being faced with new and different challenges to the previous day. The role requires building relationships with functional leads and liaising between the functional domains to successfully deliver the end goal, whatever it may be.”
